 "Of My Love Be Sure" Poesy
Ring
Love or Poesy rings are gold bands engraved with a brief poem or sentiment.
These inscribed rings are found as early as classical times but reached
their greatest popularity in the 16th & 17th century when they were
used as a wedding ring, a lover's token or as a means of showing regard.
The design of the ring is interlaced with engraved design etching. Engraved
on the inside of the ring is in French - "de m'amour soiez sure" -meaning "of
my love be sure". This ring is a museum authorized reproduction. ITEM

 "My Beloved" Poesy Rings

This modern poesy ring is taken from Solomon's Song of Songs Chapter
2, verse 16, the most passionate declaration of love in the Bible. "My
beloved is mine and I am his" is engraved around the outside of
the band in a fifteenth century blackletter face. Cast by the lost wax
method of ancient times in sterling silver.

Other" Ring
This jewelry is derived from the lettering and decoration of an original
poesy ring. Engraved in French "vouse et nul autre" meaning
you and no other, in Gothic script. These inscribed rings are found as
early as classical times when the inscriptions were usually dedicatory.
Poesy rings reached their greatest popularity in the 16th and 17th centuries
in England and France when they were used as a lover's token, a wedding
ring or simply a means of showing regard or giving a gift.
